I first discovered Pinwinnie in 1969. I have to say I fell in love.
It's a whisky steeped in centuries of history and legend, Pinwinnie Royale Scotch Whisky can lay claim to both regal and ecclesiastic legacies.
Packaged in a splendid and unmistakeable proprietary bottle, Pinwinnie is a mature whisky with a rich, distinguished character blended from only the finest malt and grain whiskies.
Nose - Smooth, mellow with sweet, fragrant notes. Colour - Pale gold, straw like appearance.
Taste - Aromatic, well rounded with a smooth dry finish.
Since then I have taken it upon myself to convert every Scotch drinker I know to Pinwinnie. To drink it was to love it.
I was declared a disabled vet a decade and a half ago and now I can't drink. Boy how I miss it.
One bit of confusion for me is that when I first started drinking it, it was described as a single malt. My eldest says it became a blend at some point. Confusing!
Can't drink it anymore, but I can certainly breath in the aroma!
I would urge anyone to give it a try.
