Crown Royal Whisky - Canada's largest brand and the best?

Crown Royal Logo

Crown Royal Whisky was launched in 1939 and is now owned by Seagrams, who are in turn owned by the huge Diageo Group.

Crown Royal

Crown Royal has a rich golden amber colour, with a nose that is rich and robust with hints of vanilla and fruit.

On the palate it is very smooth and creamy with hints of oak and the flavour of vanilla. The finish is explained as long and lasting.

Crown Royal has a smooth and complex taste is derived from a blend of super premium whiskies. After the individual whiskies reach maturity in special oak casks, they are blended and set aside, becoming smoother and mellower as they age.

Every bottle of Crown Royal Whisky arrives in its own purple pouch, complete with a gold draw string. Bottles of special reserve come with an even more opulent bag, one with a gold tasseled drawstring.

These bags are now almost as famous as the Whiskey, becoming highly collectible.

Where is Crown Royal made?

Crown Royal Whisky is distilled in Gimli, Canada at the Gimli Distillery.

Located on the western shore of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Gimli has the natural resources that are key to making Crown Royal's blend.

Natural local grains, a pure water source and a climate that supports the distilling process all come together to contribute to the smoothness and quality of this excellent whisky.

Gimli, Canada was named one of the most livable communities in the world and is recognized as one of the 20 great places to live in Canada.

Gimli is an ideal lakefront setting, and boasts countless outdoor and cultural activities. In Gimli, the Crown Royal Whisky distillery produces enough whisky to fill 1,000 barrels each day.
