Bourbon chicken is a Cajun dish that is extremely tasty.
If you are looking for a great Southern meal you found it.
Below is a recipe for a classic bourbon chicken recipe.
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, onion and bourbon; stir until sugar has dissolved.
Add chicken and stir to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
Place chicken and the marinade in an 8 x 8 inch glass-baking dish and bake in a preheated 350°F. oven for 45 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with pan juices.
Scrape pan juices with all the brown bits into a frying pan.
Heat over medium heat and add white wine.
Stir and add chicken.
Serve immediately with pan juices over cooked rice.

The ingredient amounts can be changed depending on the amount of chicken to be marinated.
Spread chicken skin side up on a flat pan after marinating for a couple of hours.
The longer it marinates, the stronger the flavour.
Preheat oven to 350°. Bake chicken for about 45 minutes, until done.
You can use this marinade for grilled or broiled chicken as well.
